Isaac Turns 15

Well, Isaac is now 15 months old. He continues to master the control of his muscles and his body. He can now control his face muscles pretty well. He can also make funny faces. Here is a video really showing this off.

Isaac’s 13th Month

Isaac has now been alive 13 months and I wanted to recap his adventures this month.

The summer began which meant we were starting our time with our pool passes. Isaac loves the water and he runs around in it and even when he falls in over his head you just pick him up real fast and then he is ready to go again after spitting the water out.

We also recently discovered the Grayslake Park District Splash Park, and Isaac loves this place too. It is just an adventure land with water toys he can run around in. He has been “bumping into” girls there also and saying, “Hi.” He is a gonna be a heart breaker I fear. (I love the one on the left!)

Much like the pool and the park. Isaac loves bath and is still quite exciting to get to splash around. I think really it is just that he likes violence and destruction much like Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.

Isaac got to meet the neighbors and play with them a few times and he is still happy playing on the porch with his house and in side with his horse. The horse works with the TV like a very simplistic learning video game, but he didn’t like that much the first time we tried. We will have to try again soon.

We have also found that Isaac thoroughly enjoys the park and playground equipment. He loves pulling on chains and making things swing and he loves climbing up things. That could be stairs, couches, slides, anything really. He isn’t as crazy about going down slides or things like that, but in time that will come. It is a good thing for now in that he is not hurting himself.

Lastly, Isaac loves food. People often ask me what he likes to eat, and he likes to eat pretty much anything. I think I have yet to find anything he doesn’t ear. There are of course some items he like more than others. He loves chicken nuggets, pancakes, blueberries, and macaroni and cheese to name a few.

However I fear that we are teaching him some bad habits, such as watching TV from the dinner table.

Isaac Finds this Water Frisbee Horribly Amusing

Issac loves to take this water toy frisbee and put it in my mouth and then I flap it around and he gets a kick out of this. He also likes sticking oher things in my mouth too. He likes to feed me food and pit fridge magnets in my mouth. Here is the video:

Isaac Using Utensils

Isaac used a fork today. I don’t know that it was the first time, but it was adorable. Gina had to put the food on the fork, but he got it into his mouth.

Issac Learns a New Skill

I don’t post nearly often enough about Isaac and his growth, but today was quite exciting. Kind out of nowhere Isaac decided to stand up from the ground with no help. He sort creates a triangle with his body and then uses hands to get a point that he is bending over and then stands up. We were out in the yard planting some grass and I could see a look in his eyes that said he wanted to stand up alone. But, he didn’t do it. Then we came inside and several hours later after Gina got home he did it very unexpectedly. I grabbed the camcorder then and he was being goofy for a while and then he did again (well almost and then fell) and then he did it for real (he technically used the box of wipes, but he didn’t need to.) Lastly, right after I turned off the camera he walked into the side of the couch and fell down. It was very funny but not taped.

The first video is him being goofy and trying (and failing) to stand up.

Isaac Worries About Mario Kart Music and Dancing

Whenever I play Mario Kart, Isaac does the same thing. Between races or whenever the music stops, Isaac says, “Uh oh.” Then when the music starts again, he dances away. It is just quite cute when he gets worried about the music stopping.

Isaac’s Starting a Modeling Career

We have gone to JC Penny for pictures twice in the last month. Once for normal 10 month pictures and once for Easter pictures. Both times now JC Penny has asked us to allow him to the in the sample book. Now, I’m not saying this will lead to an actual career, but he is an adorable baby, and if he could earn his college tuition, that would be nice. Here is the first picture they wanted:

I like this one because he is doing things almost like he posed. I wasn’t there, but it is cool that he is moving and doing those things and they were captured like that.

Isaac Making Race Car Noises

On Thursday Isaac and I were at home while Gina was at Parent Conferences and he was a ball of energy. All night long he was crawling around making what I can best describe as race car noises. It was hilarious! He was a little sick that night still, but he is better now. He had an error infection and the amoxicillin did a fantastic job. Anyway, here is the video.

Isaac is on a Quest to Walk

Over the past few days, Isaac is getting closer and closer to walking. The other day he took his first little step and now he can step up for almost 10 seconds on his own. When he gets up he kind of looks around like, what am I doing up here. He also gets this real proud look on his face sometimes when stands up for a few seconds. We think he may start walking any day now. Here is a video of him taking about five steps in a row.

Good Thing #32 — March 8th — New High Score

Today included two great moments.

First, I bolwed a 242 which is my new high game. This included one open, so there is still room for improvement.

Second, at the bowling alley, my student Liz gave Isaac the biggest non-mylar balloon I have ever seen and he was thouroughly amused.

We also went to eat with my Dad and Rhoda and while at the restaurant, Isaac started crawling on the table and getting us all napkins. Thoroughly amusing!
